Zin flush mounting sheet metal bushes

ZIN is a flush mounting bush for sheet metal templates. It is a composite product consisting of a hardened and ground tool steel insert pressed into an outer body of mild steel, for use in templates of the same structure. The ZIN bush will withstand tensile stress in both directions, plus a high degree of torque.

To insert the ZIN bush in the sheet jig, advantage is taken of the phenomena known as 'metal flow' to effect a positive lock between the bush and the parent sheet metal. This metal flow is caused by a punch or pressure element so designed that in conjuction with the specially shaped ZIN bush, positive locking takes place.

No special preparation of the jig is required, other than reamed or punched holes to normal manufacturing limits. They can be fixed to the template using ordinary pneumatic light riviters, hand fly presses or light power presses.
